Fugaku is a supersized strategic bomber loaded with 6 bombs larger than B-29, which Imperial Japanese Army planned during World War II.
Supersized long-range strategic bomber was planned to build, to fly to Europe after carrying out air raid on the American soil, then landing on Germany or occupied land. However, on July 1944, Japan lost in Battle of the Philippine Sea, then Saipan fell, where the east chain of absolute national defense line. Hideki Tōjō, the biggest supporter, resigned as a prime minister.
The Fugaku development was called of because it was not able to be ready for the war. Fighter development was prioritized to the air defense on Japan’s mainland and due to the budget reduction policy for aircraft models.
